Nautilocalyx Ecuadoranus

Large upright gesneriad with striking bullate leaves and beautiful 2-3 cm long white flowers. This beauty can definitely be too large for some terrariums, but if there is enough room this can be a wonderful centrepiece. Juvenile leaves are smoother and don’t show as much bullation, but once it hits about 7-8 cm the leaves become very bullate. Flowers regularly as white trumpets with patches of dark purple near the mouth.

Soil :

Does best with consistently moist ABG mixture.

Humidity :

Prefers a consistent humidity of 70+ but can tolerate short drops in humidity. If humidity is high and airflow is low, aerial roots can form. Increasing airflow is the best solution if aerial roots aren’t wanted.

Light :

Light tolerant but prefers low to moderate lighting.
